Ukraine expects China to influence Russia to stop its war of aggression - MFA
This is stated in a comment provided to Ukrinform by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko.
"Ukraine is closely monitoring the visit of the Chinese President to Russia. We expect Beijing to influence Moscow to stop its war of aggression against Ukraine," Nikolenko said.
He noted that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had a phone call with his Chinese counterpart last week. Kuleba emphasized that restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity should be the core of all diplomatic efforts.
"We are ready for a closer dialogue with China to restore peace in Ukraine in accordance with the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and the latest UN General Assembly resolution on this issue," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
As reported, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Russia. The plane carrying the Chinese delegation landed at Moscow's Vnukovo airport.
