Ukraine expects Denmark to join ‘aircraft coalition’ – PM Shmyhal
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on Telegram following a meeting in Kyiv with a delegation of the Foreign Policy Council of Denmark’s Parliament, led by Michael Aastrup Jensen.
In particular, Shmyhal praised Denmark's contribution to strengthening Ukrainian defense capabilities.
"I thanked for the formation of the ninth military aid package for Ukraine... We appreciate Danish partners’ joining the tank coalition. We expect that Den
mark will also become part of the aircraft coalition," Shmyhal wrote.
According to the Prime Minister, restoration projects were also discussed at the meeting.
"Denmark took patronage over Mykolaiv, and we already have the first implemented project - the restoration of water supply to the city. In addition, the support for business initiatives is envisaged within the framework of the Ukraine Support Fund, which amounts to 7 billion Danish kroner. This will allow Danish companies to be involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine,” Shmyhal said.
Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba discussed with a delegation of the Foreign Policy Council of Denmark’s Folketing (parliament) the acceleration of arms supplies, the Peace Formula, Russia's accountability, and Ukraine's path to the European Union.
On March 15, Denmark's government allocated a new military aid package worth 1 billion Danish kroner (over 140 million dollars) for Ukraine.
