FM Kuleba: Russian UN Security Council presidency on April 1 is bad joke
Ukrinform
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba strongly opposes Russia's possible UN Security Council presidency starting next month.
“Russian UN Security Council presidency on April 1 is a bad joke. Russia has usurped its seat; it’s waging a colonial war; its leader is a war criminal wanted by the ICC for kidnapping children. The world can’t be a safe place with Russia at UNSC,” Kuleba posted on Twitter.
As reported, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Sergiy Kyslytsya stated that Russia, which commits war crimes and shells Ukrainian cities, cannot chair the Security Council.
The UN Security Council presidency is held by each of the members in turn for one month.
