Zelensky, Trudeau discuss situation on battlefield, Ukraine’s security needs

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed Ukraine's security needs and the situation on the battlefield with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

“I had a phone call with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. I thanked him for CAD 2.4 billion in aid to the Ukrainian budget and significant defense support. We discussed in detail the situation on the battlefield and further security needs of Ukraine,” Zelensky posted on Telegram.

As reported, in June 2022, Ukraine and Canada signed a loan agreement on granting Ukraine a loan on preferential terms with the first additional agreement dated December 13, 2022, according to which the State Budget of Ukraine received CAD 1.95 billion. The loan will total CAD 4.35 billion.

On March 31, the State Budget of Ukraine received CAD 2.4 billion (USD 1.8 billion) on preferential terms from Canada.
