Macron, Biden want to involve China to end war in Ukraine
According to the Elysee Palace, Ukrinform reports referring to Reuters.
"The two leaders have mentioned their joint willingness to engage China to accelerate the end of the war in Ukraine and take part in building sustainable peace in the region," Macron's office said in a statement.
As the Elysee Palace highlighted, Macron and Biden hope that China can contribute to solidarity efforts between the global North and South, as well as develop a common agenda to combat climate change and preserve biodiversity.
French President, together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will be visiting China from Wednesday, April 5, to Friday, April 7. Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to hold negotiations with them.
It is expected that Russia's aggression against Ukraine will be one of the topics of discussion.
