Croatia to allocate EUR 500,000 in aid to Ukraine
"Ukraine is in the very center of attention during this ministerial meeting. I am pleased that yesterday we held a session in the NATO-Ukraine Commission format for the first time since 2017. During the session today, together with Finland and with the participation of Sweden, we will discuss thorough and long-term support for Ukraine. This involves financial commitments within the framework of a broad aid package, to which Croatia will contribute half a million euros," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia Gordan Grlić-Radman said ahead the second day of the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As noted, Croatia already provides Ukraine with significant humanitarian aid and shelter for thousands of Ukrainians fleeing the war. According to the minister, Croatia is also ready to share with Ukraine its own experience of overcoming the consequences of the war in its territory, including the development of psychological support projects for veterans and mine clearance programs.
"We will also discuss the key decisions of the upcoming summit in Vilnius, especially those related to the accession of Ukraine and the admission of already invited countries to NATO. We will also discuss future investments [in defense] and deepening cooperation with partners who share our values," Grlić-Radman added.
As reported, a two-day Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs continues in Brussels on April 5. Today the ministers will meet with diplomatic representatives of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region – Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
