Zelensky, Duda discuss strengthening Ukraine's Armed Forces

The Ukrainian leader said this at a press conference in Warsaw on Wednesday, April 5, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We discussed the strengthening of our army. And this is very important. I am thankful that we discussed and made a decision today and we will continue to discuss with Prime Minister [Mateusz Morawiecki] a powerful package that will strengthen our people," Zelensky said.

He recalled that those staying in the trenches on the front lines in Ukraine are true warriors - Ukrainian men and women whom the country is losing every day.

"I want to thank you for the powerful defense package with which we will strengthen our fighters and protect their lives, because they risk their own lives […] not only for the sake of the lives of Ukrainians, but also for the sake of the future lives of your children, the children of Europe," Zelensky said.

He also noted that he wants Poland and Polish businesses to join the reconstruction of Ukraine.

"The rebuilding of Ukraine will be an important page in our relations. This will really bring our businesses and our peoples as close as possible. It is very important for us to see Poland as one of our main partners in the reconstruction of Ukraine. This should serve not only as assistance to Ukraine, but first and foremost, this should be beneficial to Polish businesses," Zelensky said.

Zelensky and his wife are on an official visit to Poland on April 5.
