Nemchinov meets with head of European program INTER PARES

Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov discussed with INTER PARES Program Manager Jonathan Murphy the government's role in approximating legislation to EU law and coordination between the Cabinet and the Verkhovna Rada.

He announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"During the meeting, they discussed the role of the government in approximating legislation to EU law, coordination between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as the role of the government in lawmaking," Nemchinov wrote.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers is actively engaged in lawmaking, with 615 bills submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, 201 adopted, and 53 passed in the first reading. In addition, the government ensures that draft laws submitted to the parliament by other subjects of the right of legislative initiative are examined.

Nemchinov emphasized that establishing a constructive dialogue within the framework of cooperation between the government and the Verkhovna Rada on the platforms of parliamentary committees allows explaining certain provisions, approaches to draft laws, arguing their position to find a common opinion, and coordinating positions.

The meeting was also attended by Volodymyr Kondrachuk, coordinator of the Public Administration Reform section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and Oleh Voitovych, Deputy State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers.
