Russian-Iranian threat: Stefanchuk calls on Bahrain to help curb 'axis of evil'
Stefanchuk announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"I had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Russia continues to attack Ukraine, destroying infrastructure and killing peaceful Ukrainians. There are no such crimes that Russia has not committed in Ukraine. Therefore, the first thing I focused on was the threat of Russian-Iranian military and political rapprochement. Concerted action is needed to curb this 'axis of evil'," he said.
Stefanchuk thanked Bahrain for supporting Ukraine in the humanitarian sphere. He added that Ukraine needs financial and defense support.
Ukraine's parliament speaker also called on Bahrain to join the current regime of sanctions against Russia. "This will testify to the joint desire to restore peace and security in the world," Stefanchuk said.
He also said that a peace formula proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been discussed at the meeting with Bahrain's foreign minister. Stefanchuk said that Ukraine would like to see Bahrain among the countries joining the implementation of this initiative.
Bahrain's foreign minister visited Ukraine for the first time since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in July 1992.
