Ukraine counts on EU's 11th Russia sanctions package to include restrictions on nuclear industry - Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine emphasized this during a joint briefing in Kyiv with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
During the talks with the European Commission president, Zelensky separately discussed the issue of Russia sanctions over its aggression against Ukraine.
"We count on the adoption of the 11th sanctions package in the near future. Sanctions against the nuclear industry of the terrorist state should be part of it," Zelensky said, stressing that in this case, the strength of the sanctions package will be proportional to the level of the threat.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia should be adopted no earlier than the second half of May. The European Union intends to introduce a ban on the transit of many goods through the territory of the Russian Federation, in a bid to strengthen compliance with the sanctions imposed previously.
