Meloni: Italy bets on Ukraine’s victory
"We will continue to provide assistance, in particular security assistance, so that Ukraine can enter the negotiations with a firm position. This is important because peace cannot be achieved with a position of surrender," the Prime Minister said after a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, TG24 reports.
"We will never forget that Ukraine is a victim of brutal aggression," Meloni added.
"No unjust peace can be imposed on Ukraine," the Prime Minister of Italy said.
Meloni added that Italy supports the people of Ukraine.
"Italy has a very clear position of support for our allies and the Ukrainian people, and the pace we have set in our relations shows the commitment and importance we attach to our relations," Meloni said.
As reported, on May 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Italy to meet with country's President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Pope Francis. Zelensky called this visit important for Ukraine’s victory.
