President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has started his visit to Germany meeting with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian leader arrived in Berlin from Rome at 0:30. From BER Airport, he flew by helicopter to Bendlerblock, the second official residence of the Minister of Defense, Bild informs.
Before midday, Zelensky will hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

In the afternoon, Scholz will present Zelensky with the International Charlemagne Prize.
This is the first visit of President Zelensky to Germany since the beginning of the war. The visit has been surrounded by unprecedented security measures.
