IAEA Director General tells about plans during visit to Ukraine
Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"On my way to Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky and present a programme of assistance in the aftermath of the catastrophic Nova Kakhovka dam flooding," the head of the agency wrote.
Grossi also noted that he intends to assess the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and rotate the team of the IAEA Support and Assistance Mission in Zaporizhzhia (ISAMZ) with a reinforced team.
As reported, on June 7, Rafael Grossi said that he would lead the mission that would go to Zaporizhzhia NPP after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka HPP. He added that this is a "decisive moment for nuclear safety."
As reported, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka HPP on the night of June 6. As a result of the explosion of the engine room from the inside, the station was completely destroyed.
