EU Special Envoy: We are close to adoption of 11th package of sanctions
The relevant statement was made by David O’Sullivan in an interview with Ukrinform.
"We are very, very close (adoption of the 11th package of sanctions - ed.). We're coming to the end of the process and I would hope within the next weeks we will see an agreement," O'Sullivan said.
According to him, the new package will mainly focus on the implementation, enforcement and non-circumvention of sanctions.
"There will be additional sanctions, extra measures included to address a number of issues including some of the issues around the maritime, including additional listings of entities and some third country entities where we feel they have been contributing to the Russian war effort," the EU special representative added.
As Ukrinform reported, during a meeting between EU Special Representative for Sanctions David O'Sullivan and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov, the Ukrainian side insisted on speeding up the process of adopting the 11th EU sanctions package, as well as on the application of devastating sanctions against the Russian military-industrial complex.
