The Group of Seven nations have confirmed their unity and readiness to back Ukraine, and also agreed to coordinate policies in relations with China.

That’s according to a statement by the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Matthew Miller, commenting on the meeting of Secretary Antony Blinken with his G7 counterparts on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"They (meeting participants - ed.) underscored their continued support for Ukraine in responding to Russia's brutal war of aggression," the statement says.

Meeting with representatives of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, and the European Union, Blnken also briefed partners on the talks with Chinese leaders during his recent trip to Beijing.

"The G7 noted the importance of close coordination on the PRC and reaffirmed that the G7 is more united than ever," the State Department spokesman added.

The meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the G7 nations took place a day after the latest row in U.S.-China relations, sparked by U.S. President Joe Biden referring to Chinese leader Xi Jinping as "dictator", and Beijing responding that Biden's words were extremely absurd, irresponsible, and an outright political provocation.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated during a speech at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London that the United States aims to support, develop, and rebuild Ukraine.
