Shmyhal and Blinken discuss cooperation in five directions of Ukraine's rapid reconstruction

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in London, during which the parties discussed cooperation in five key directions for the rapid reconstruction of Ukraine.

The head of government announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"We discussed cooperation in five key directions of rapid reconstruction. We focused on humanitarian demining, where the United States can help with equipment and training," Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of insuring military and political risks, as this will open the way for investment and strengthen Ukraine's economic resilience. He also noted the necessity to help Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses. In particular, through grant support, which creates jobs and economic opportunities.

Shmyhal thanked the United States for its strong comprehensive support. In particular, for the weapons and for the allocation of additional financial assistance of $1.3 billion.

"I am grateful to Anthony Blinken for his attention to the problems of reconstruction. We know that the United States will support Ukraine for as long as necessary," he added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on June 21, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, Shmyhal met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The parties discussed attracting private business to support Ukraine's economy.

In addition, Shmyhal and Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karinš coordinated their positions on Ukraine's further progress towards the EU and NATO at a meeting in London.
