NATO Secretary General visits Security Assistance Group–Ukraine

That’s according to the NATO press service, Ukrinform reports.

The Secretary General stressed the importance of the mission in helping Ukraine to defend itself for as long as it takes, according to the report.

“The training and advice you are providing is making a real difference on the battlefield every day,” he said, adding that this helps Ukraine to uphold its right to self-defense, as enshrined in the UN Charter.

Established by the U.S. Department of Defense in November 2022, the Group coordinates the provision of equipment and training support for Ukraine’s armed forces, as they continue to push back on Russia’s brutal war of aggression. In total, personnel from 22 Allied and partner nations, including Ukraine, are represented at the SAG-U and International Donor Coordination Center in Wiesbaden.

As reported earlier, since the outset of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, NATO and allies have provided Ukraine with substantial political, economic, and military assistance, in particular, modern weapons and ammunition, which allows Ukrainian defenders to restrain the Russian aggressor and liberate temporarily occupied territories.
