British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Monday that the UK is prepared for a number of scenarios in Russia and noted the "potentially destabilizing" impact of tensions between the "Wagner" PMC and Vladimir Putin.

That's according to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

"It's too early to predict with certainty what the consequences of this might be (the recent rebellion in the Russian Federation - ed.), but of course we are prepared as we always would be for a range of scenarios," the British prime minister emphasized.

Sunak said that the UK is "monitoring events carefully" in Russia after the short-term mutiny of Yevgeny Prigozhin on the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the UK has already conducted monitoring and analysis of recent events in Russia, as it is aware of the "potentially destabilizing impact" of Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as tensions between the "Wagnerites" and the Putin regime.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 23, the leader of the "Wagner" PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced a demarche against the Russian military leadership, including Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

As a result of the offensive, the "Wagner" PMC column reached the Lipetsk region of Russia, 420 kilometers from Moscow.

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held talks with the founder of the "Wagner" PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, after which the latter stated that the group's fighters were returning to their field camps.
