Invitation for Ukraine to join NATO must be clear and irrevocable – Landsbergis
He said this after a meeting with Lithuania's top-ranking officials, Ukrinform reports, citing LRT.
"Our position does not change. We fully support Ukraine's aspiration and we support them, we support their position. [Lithuanian wording would be] to commit in such a way that the invitation [for Ukraine to NATO] is clear and irrevocable," Landsbergis said.
According to the report, preparations for the July summit were discussed during the meeting. The meeting was also attended by President Gitanas Nausėda, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Minister of National Defense Arvydas Anušauskas, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Valdemaras Rupšys and Chairman of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs Žygymantas Pavilionis.
The NATO summit will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12.
