Zelensky suggests that President of Brazil organize summit for Latin America to hear Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Globo, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Among the steps that the Brazilian leader could have taken to help Ukraine, Zelensky mentioned, in particular, the possible arrangement of his meeting with the leaders of Latin America.
“Latin America is very important to me, Brazil and other countries too. Indeed, I would like [to pay a visit to Brazil – Ed.]. If I receive an invitation, I will go,” the President of Ukraine said.
Zelensky offered Lula to act as a regional leader and gather the leaders of other countries in the region so that they could hear a message from Ukraine.
“…If he can get other Latin American leaders together, we can all meet in Brazil or elsewhere. This will also greatly help the entire world to restore peace. And Ukraine will be heard and supported by the continent,” Zelensky explained.
The Head of State expressed confidence that the President of Brazil and Brazilian people support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and Ukraine needs their support.
In addition, President Zelensky expressed hope that Brazil could promote the extension of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which Russia had recently terminated.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine does not expect any military aid from Brazil.
“I am not going to ask Lula to give me weapons. Why? I know that he won’t do so,” Zelensky added.
A reminder that Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated earlier that the world was tiring of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
In an interview with the Latin American media outlets, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that he would be interested to meet with the Brazilian leader to discuss the current situation.
