The United States welcomes the initiative of multilateral negotiations on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and intends to participate in this process.

“We do, of course, support this summit. We have long said that it is important that Ukraine be in the driver’s seat when it comes to any potential diplomatic resolution to this war,” U.S. Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller told a press briefing in Washington Monday when asked about the summit in Saudi Arabia, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to him, it is important that the countries that have not yet heard Ukraine's position directly from it have this opportunity.

Miller added he could not say which countries would participate in the talks but confirmed that representatives of the United States would join the process.

As reported, the day before, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak announced the preparations for a meeting in Saudi Arabia at the level of advisers to heads of state with the aim of implementing Ukraine's initiatives to restore lasting and just peace. He noted that this meeting will be an intermediate stage to agree on the Ukrainian Peace Formula which will then be discussed at the founding global summit at the level of the heads of state which may take place before the end of the year.
