French Foreign Ministry accuses Russia of threatening global food security
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press release of the French Ministry.
The French diplomacy strongly condemned the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine, which struck the port infrastructure of Izmail on the Danube on the night of August 2.
"After the questioning of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Russia is once again deliberately putting world food security at risk by destroying essential infrastructure for grain exports. It only seeks its own interest at the expense of the most vulnerable populations by driving up the prices of agricultural products and trying to prevent one of its main competitors from exporting its products," the press release states.
The French ministry also rcalled that attacks on civilian infrastructure are a war crime and a violation of international humanitarian law.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian invaders attacked the southern regions of Odesa region with kamikaze drones overnight Wednesday. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out at port and industrial infrastructure facilities, and a grain silo sustained damage.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis condemned the Russian attack on infrastructure on the Danube, referring to it as a war crime.
