China seeks international consensus to resolve "Ukraine crisis" - MFA
This was stated by the Office of the Spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry in response to Ukrinform’s inquiry.
"The special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, had extensive contacts and exchanges with all parties regarding the political resolution of conflict, outlined China's position and proposals, and heard the opinions and proposals put forward by other countries in order to reach an international consensus on the resolution of the ‘Ukraine crisis,’” the response reads.
The diplomatic office added that the negotiators responded positively to Li Hui's participation in the meeting and "noted China's active role in promoting peace talks."
As can be seen from the response, in the “Ukraine issue,” China will continue to adhere to the chosen course for peace negotiations.
"Based on the document ‘China's position on the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis’, China will continue to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with all parties, search for a solution that would satisfy all parties involved, as well as strengthen mutual trust and contribute to the promotion of the political settlement of the ‘Ukraine crisis,’” the official spokesman replied.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, said that different views were expressed at the consultations in Saudi Arabia regarding the key principles of peace for Ukraine, but all those present testified to the commitment of their nations to the principles of the UN Charter, international law and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and inviolability of its territorial integrity.
On the sidelines of the conference in Jeddah, Yermak also held bilateral talks with the heads of more than 30 delegations, while no report was released on the meeting with the Chinese representative.
