Zelensky: Peace formula could become universal for ending other conflicts

President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasizes that the Peace Formula is not only an important platform not for a fair end to the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine but it can become a universal basis for ending other armed conflicts.

Zelensky made the comment in an interview with Latin American journalists, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, the correct - and so far the only - diplomatic way to achieve peace is the Peace Formula initiated by Ukraine. Unfortunately, we are not alone, and this is not the last military conflict in the world. And I believe that after this war ends, such a Formula can be the basis for overcoming other global problems," the president said.

He noted that the Peace Formula is primarily about Ukraine, but if certain international institutions do not provide an opportunity to justly end such aggressive wars and achieve peace, which is eloquently demonstrated by the example of Ukraine, then the Peace Formula can become a new universal foundation for relevant decisions.

According to Zelensky, individual countries may have their own opinion on certain points of the Peace Formula, which is normal, as any platform is debatable.

"To agree with something and to disagree with something... To offer something unique… And this is what our Peace Formula is based on. The basis must be Ukrainian because the war is raging in Ukraine. And proposals can be made by any state because for us, the experience and opinions of each of the countries that really seek peace, and not to play along with Russia, not to play along the Peace Formula for the sake of future economic relations with Russia, are valuable. Because this is a game involving real people," he emphasized.

The head of state emphasized that it is necessary to prepare for the Global Peace Summit, and he is interested in the maximum number of states being represented at the event.

"So that we politically decide that this is the right platform, and most countries in the world see this Formula as a basis, a roadmap, steps, and a plan to overcome this terrible tragedy," the president said.

As reported, on August 5-6, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, hosted a second meeting at the level of national security advisers and political directors regarding the key principles of peace based on the Peace Formula put forward by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Peace Formula is supposed to ensure radiation, nuclear, food, and energy security, the release of all prisoners of war and deportees, fulfilling the UN Charter, restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the world order, withdrawing Russian troops and ending hostilities, restoring justice, countering ecocide, preventing escalation, and fixating the end of the war.
