U.S. to continue international discussions of arms supplies to Ukraine - Pentagon
That’s according to General Patrick Ryder, the spokesman for the U.S. Department of Defense, who spoke at a briefing in the Pentagon on Thursday, August 10, Ukrinform’s own correspondent reports.
In terms of the kind of capabilities that Ukraine will need going forward, “that will be a continuing discussion with Ukrainians and with our allies and partners as far as funding goes," noted the spokesman.
He also recalled that after the revision of the Pentagon's expenses, an additional $6.2 billion was released to support Ukraine. According to Ryder, this money will remain available even beyond the end of fiscal year 2023 (September 30 - ed.).
Ryder emphasized that the U.S. administration "remains confident that it’ll be able to continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, citing U.S. media, the Biden administration intends to table in Congress its request for additional financing of defense and other assistance to Ukraine.
