Japan to donate $37M to NATO trust fund to detect enemy UAVs in Ukraine – top diplomat
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa, during a joint press conference with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Kyiv.
"Japan actively promotes support for Ukraine. As part of our support, Japan recently decided to contribute $37 million to a NATO trust fund to provide unmanned aerial vehicle detection systems," Kamikawa said.
She added that also, to help Ukrainians survive the harsh winter, five mobile gas turbine generators and seven power transformers were delivered to Ukraine with the help of Japan.
"Today I will take part in the ceremony of handing this equipment over," the head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.
As reported earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoko Kamikawa of Japan came on an unannounced visit to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Sunday, January 7. This is Kamikawa's first visit to Ukraine since she took office in September.
