MFA China: Bejing, Kyiv in close contact, exchanging opinions

Beijing insists that China and Ukraine maintain close contact and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Wang Wenbing, who spoke at a briefing on Monday, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"China and Ukraine maintain staeble communication channels and exchange views on issues of mutual concern," Wang said, commenting at Ukrinform’s inquiry on the prospects of a dialogue between the leaders of the two states or the heads of their diplomatic agencies.

"Both parties will continue communication and exchanges based on our bilateral relations," the spokesman added.

At the same time, the diplomat provided no details regarding the prospects of negotiations between the leaders of Ukraine and China.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba stated Kyiv seeks to have a phone call between President Volodymyr Zelenski and China’s leader Xi Jinping as part of the preparation for the Global Peace Formula Summit.
