Zelensky: Global Peace Summit has potential to bring Ukraine closer to just peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"The Global Peace Summit has the potential to bring Ukraine closer to lasting and just peace," he wrote.
One of the most important steps on this path, he added, is the return of captives and deportees, including children who were abducted by Russia in the occupied part of Ukraine and taken away from their homeland.
"Russia is killing, ruining and trying to destroy our future. But we are stronger. We must do everything in our power to ensure that every Ukrainian child is at home, happy, with their family, and safe," Zelensky said.
According to him, the world has enough strength and leadership to help and to restore justice by bringing Ukrainians, both children and adults, home."
The Global Peace Summit is due to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16, with heads of state and government from all continents expected to attend. The participating countries will develop a joint negotiating position and submit it to Russia.
The Ukrainian Peace Formula is a diplomatic mechanism offered by Ukraine to achieve a just end to the war started by Russia.
