As reported, on 29 May, North Korea launched more than 150 balloons with garbage across the inter-Korean border. On 2 June, Pyongyang launched more than 600 more garbage balloons into South Korea and jammed GPS signals for five days in a row.

Pyongyang calls it a response to the South's propaganda leaflets against the North Korean regime.

On 3 June, South Korea announced that it would refuse to implement the military agreement with the DPRK.
