Umerov, Stoltenberg to discuss Ukraine’s urgent needs, various models of cooperation

Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov will discuss with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the nation’s urgent needs and various models of cooperation with the Alliance.

He stated this at a joint briefing with Stoltenberg at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We appreciate your personal leadership toward urgent support and I look forward to discussing long-term models of cooperation with you. I think this will be the last meeting before the Washington Summit, to which we are looking forward," Umerov said.

The minister noted that the parties would also discuss all of Ukraine’s urgent needs, long-term support, and institutional changes that are being proposed.

As Ukrinform reported, on Thursday, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and his U.S. counterpart Lloyd Austin discussed in detail the planning of Ukraine's defense needs during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
