The final round of negotiations between Ukraine and Poland on the signing of a bilateral security agreement has been held at the Office of the President of Ukraine.

That's according to a statement posted on the president's website, Ukrinform reports.

"On the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Head of the Presidential Office, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva held the final round of negotiations on signing a bilateral security agreement with Poland," the statement reads.

The Polish delegation was headed by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Robert Kupiecki.

"Our negotiating teams have done a complex job, and now we are close to concluding a bilateral security agreement. Poland's role in helping Ukraine and bringing our victory closer cannot be overestimated. This will be a truly ambitious agreement, reflecting most of our achievements and shared plans for the future," Zhovkva said.

The parties noted the progress made and scheduled further actions aimed at finalizing the bilateral agreement and signing it in the near future.
