Currently, nuclear threats voiced by Russia should be perceived purely as blackmail.

That’s according to defense intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, answering a question about whether intelligence operatives see harbingers of a Russian nuclear strike, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"At the moment, we are talking about the same nuclear blackmail that Putin and all his propagandists have been applying, that shouting about through all these years, especially after a full-scale invasion," he said.

Responding to a question about the information that NATO is negotiating deployment of more nuclear weapons in the face of an increasing threat from Russia and China, the defense intelligence spokesman noted that that the free world is becoming more and more aware of the threat coming from Russia and the Putin regime.

"After all, Russian propaganda and Kremlin’s official talking heads are not hiding – but on the contrary, emphasizing – that they are at war not only with Ukraine, but also with NATO, with America, with the EU – in fact, with the entire free world. Therefore, the reaction is becoming more and more pronounced, including to Putin's nuclear blackmail," Yusov informed.
