Explaining complex things in simple words: International partnership of Ukraine, Olympic record, Orban's diplomacy
Ukrinform
The Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security pursues efforts to provide a brief explanation to foreign audiences on the current topics of particular interest as regards Ukraine.
INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP OF UKRAINE
On July 8, the UK Defence Secretary, John Healy, and the Netherlands Defence Minister, Ruben Brekelmans, as well as the Netherlands Foreign Affairs Minister, Caspar Veldkamp, visited Ukraine.
- Despite the changes of governments and new parliamentary configurations after the elections, the course of the partner states supporting Ukraine remains unchanged and unwavering.
- High-ranking guests from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom visited Ukraine shortly after their appointment. This proves the high priority of our country in the politics of Western countries.
- Foreign government officials took part in the celebration of the Ukrainian Navy Day and discussed the ways to strengthen the Ukrainian fleet.
- The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid, which will include artillery guns, ammunition, missiles, military boats and engineering equipment.
- The Netherlands will continue systematic work on strengthening Ukraine's air defense and preparing for the F-16 fighters’ transfer.
OLYMPIC RECORD
On July 7, Ukrainian athlete, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, set a new world record in the women's high jump, clearing 2.10 meters at the Paris Diamond League.
- The Ukrainian woman broke the world record that had stood for 37 years, and entered Ukraine in the history of world athletics.
- This victory inspires Ukrainians who dream and work to defeat the Russian aggressor.
- Ukrainians are a nation of fighters who never give up and never compromise their values.
- Every victory for Ukrainian athletes comes at a heavy price because Russia, with its aggressive war, systematically destroys the conditions for the development of sports in Ukraine.
- The new Olympic record draws the world's attention to Ukraine and helps increase sympathy and support for our country in difficult times.
ORBAN'S DIPLOMACY
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Russian dictator Putin after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and then flew to China.
- Orban's trips and meetings are what other Western leaders did even before the Russian full-scale invasion. And even then, it did not bring any results.
- Russia, as before, is determined to win and destroy Ukraine, but not to stop aggression and atone for its crimes. Under such conditions, there is simply no room for dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow.
- The real way to peace is to deprive Russia of the means and prospects for continued aggression, and therefore it is necessary to support the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
- Instead, Orban is trying to reorient the discussion in the EU from the discussion of effective support to Ukraine to the hopeless efforts for peace negotiations with the Russian Federation.
- True peace can only be just. This idea is embedded in the final document of the Global Peace Summit.
