Stefanchuk discusses security situation in Ukraine with Pelosi
He posted this on his Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.
"I met with the Honorable Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. I thanked her once again for her personal leadership in support of Ukraine... The main topic of discussion was the security situation in Ukraine. After the latest Russian attack and shelling of the children's hospital in the capital, Putin demonstrated to the world that there are no red lines for him. Therefore, I called for support to allow Ukraine to strike at Russian military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation with allied weapons," he wrote.
The Verkhovna Rada chairman added that during the meeting they discussed support for energy infrastructure. According to him, it was about protecting and restoring energy facilities.
Stefanchuk thanked the United States for its unprecedented assistance to Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion. He also expressed gratitude to the U.S. Congress for its bipartisan and bicameral support for Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported, earlier President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the United States to lift restrictions on strikes on military targets in Russia, including airfields.
