Zelensky awards orders to Senate Democratic and Republican leaders
That’s according to the Ukrainian President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.
“In Washington, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with a bipartisan delegation of the U.S. Senate, including Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, and senators from both parties… The President awarded Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell with the Orders of Merit, I class,” the report says.
The President’s Office noted that Zelensky expressed gratitude to the U.S. President, both houses of Congress, both parties, and the entire American people for their unwavering support for Ukraine during the full-scale Russian invasion. He also highlighted the bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and the U.S., signed with President Joe Biden a month ago.
Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about the intensification of Russia's missile terror against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, noting that a boy, who had been in the ICU in the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital at the time of the Russian invaders' attack, died today.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the battlefield situation and U.S. defense support.
