Trump urged Zelensky not to believe that his victory could benefit Russia - Nikiforov
According to Ukrinform, the spokesperson for the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Nikiforov, said this on the air of the United News telethon, speaking about the details of the telephone conversation between Zelensky and Trump.
"Trump said an interesting thing: he urged not to believe in fake news that his victory could be beneficial to Russia. He called this thesis fake news and urged not to believe it," Nikiforov said.
According to him, Zelensky urged Donald Trump not to believe representatives of those countries who try to somehow explain or justify the actions of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
"There are no excuses here. He is an ordinary murderer. The president said so. In a telephone conversation, he spoke about yesterday's strike on Mykolaiv, during which people were killed again. They also discussed and condemned the attack on Okhmatdyt on 8 July," Nikiforov said.
According to the President's spokesman, Zelensky and Trump consider the talks to be "good, in a spirit of mutual respect".
Nikiforov also said that during the phone conversation, both sides agreed to meet.
"We discussed certain time periods when this meeting should take place, but it is too early to talk about it. The teams will still work and agree on schedules and details," Nikiforov said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a conversation with former White House chief of staff and current US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday.
