Estonia’s Prime Minister speaks with Zelensky over phone on first day in office
That’s according to Zelensky’s post on X, seen by Ukrinform.
"I had a productive phone call with Kristen Michal on his first day as Estonia’s Prime Minister, wishing him every success in his work for the prosperity of his nation. Estonia is one of our most principled allies, and we are grateful for their annual defense support to Ukraine, remaining at 0.25% of their GDP. This long-term strategic commitment serves as an excellent example for other partners," Zelensky wrote.
Kristen Michal also assured the Ukrainian leader of maintaining the support for Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO.
"We discussed ongoing cooperation, including between our defense companies, and agreed to meet at the earliest opportunity," Zelensky concluded.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 22, Estonian President Alar Karis appointed a new government, led by Kristen Michal, after receiving a mandate from parliament. The government was formed by a ruling coalition consisting of the Reform Party, Social Democratic Party, and Eesti 200.
