Ukraine fully implements seven GRECO recommendations on graft prevention - NACP
This was reported by the press service of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, Ukrinform reports.
"The Ukrainian delegation took part in the 98th plenary meeting of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), which was held in Strasbourg (French Republic). The Ukrainian delegation was headed by the Head of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) Viktor Pavlushyk. At the meeting, the amendments to the Second Report on the Implementation of GRECO Recommendations by Ukraine, provided within the framework of the Fourth Evaluation Round, were agreed and approved. They concern the prevention of corruption among people's deputies, judges, and prosecutors," the report says.
The agency specifies that Ukraine has fully implemented the seven recommendations. They concern financial transparency for officials, regulation of lobbying activities, strengthening the integrity of judges, evaluation and disciplinary liability of judges, the composition of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, and strengthening the accountability of the prosecutor's office.
"The meeting became an important platform for presenting Ukraine's successes in implementing anti-corruption reforms, as well as discussing future steps to this end. Ukraine's participation in GRECO contributes to further rapprochement with the EU within the framework of integration processes, strengthening transparency and the rule of law in Ukraine. GRECO recommendations also became a cornerstone for negotiations with the European Commission on Ukraine's accession to the EU," said NACP Chairman Viktor Pavlushyk.
He added that Ukraine is moving along the path of reforms, being determined to implement GRECO recommendations and committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
