On Wednesday, the heads of government of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Poland, and Sweden issued a joint statement following a summit at the residence of the Swedish Prime Minister in Harpsund, assuring of increased support for Ukraine “in the coming months.”

The statement was posted on the Swedish government’s website, Ukrinform reports.

“In the coming months, we will step up our support, including to the Ukrainian defence industry, and we will invest in making more ammunition available to Ukraine,” the statement of the seven European countries reads.

The Nordic-Baltic countries declared their determination to shoulder responsibility for Euro-Atlantic security “as we face grave security threats and challenges” and their intention to strengthen collective efforts to guarantee the security of “ourselves and all our allies.”

The leaders noted that their countries are the largest donors of military assistance to Ukraine per capita, emphasizing that their support “will not waver.”

“Ukraine’s courage and resilience will be backed by strong and steadfast support by our countries whereby military assistance is an integral part,” they assured.

In addition, the countries declared their support for Ukraine’s Victory Plan and expressed their commitment to “a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine and its full European and Euro-Atlantic integration.”

“We will work together to constrain, contest and counter Russia’s aggressive and highly confrontational actions as well as to ensure its full international accountability for the crime of aggression,” the leaders of the seven countries pledged.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine and 12 other European states established a new format of defense cooperation in Copenhagen, entitled the “Nordic Group-Ukraine.” It includes the Baltic states, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland, as well as the Nordic states of Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Iceland, and Denmark.
