State Department ensuring strong positions for incoming administration on Ukraine – Blinken
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in Brussels on Wednesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"What I am trying to do, not just with Ukraine, but across the board, is to give the incoming administration the strongest hand to play in all of these areas," he said.
He stressed the importance of ensuring the new administration can act effectively from day one.
"The world does not stop just because we have a political transition underway in the United States," Blinken said.
He also reaffirmed the current administration's unwavering support for Ukraine.
"If Ukraine determines that it needs to continue the fight, we want to make sure it has what it needs to continue that fight -- the money, the munitions, the mobilized forces," Blinken said.
He further noted that if Ukraine opts to enter negotiations, it is necessary to make sure it does so from a position of strength.
