Zelensky, Spain’s Sanchez discuss joint actions to achieve peace for Ukraine
The head of state said this in a video address to the nation on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports.
"I just spoke with the Prime Minister of Spain about our joint work – all of us in Europe – for the sake of unity, which can bring peace closer. I am grateful to Spain for its support, particularly for its support in strengthening our air defense. We will continue working this week and the next one, so that common European positions become stronger and help all of us bring security back to Ukraine and all of Europe," Zelensky said.
According to the head of state, coordination and joint efforts help parties achieve results.
"This is what Europe needs now, not someone's separate efforts against everyone else on the continent. Achieving a reliable peace is a difficult task, and we must be able to pull this weight. The European position on peace must be as strong as possible," the president of Ukraine emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Zelensky, at a meeting with the German opposition leader, candidate for the chancellor’s post from the conservative CDU/CSU bloc, Friedrich Merz, said that a meeting of the Contact Group that would include Germany, France, Poland, the UK, and Denmark is scheduled for mid-December to develop Europe's position on ending the war.
