Sybiha urges Munich 2025 not to repeat past mistakes

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on participants of the 61st Munich Security Conference to avoid past mistakes and take bold steps to deter Russia.

As reported by Ukrinform, Sybiha shared his message on social media platform X.

The Foreign Minister recalled that three years ago, he was also in Munich with President Volodymyr Zelensky. At that time, he said, the atmosphere was grim, and no one believed in Ukraine, neither before the full-scale invasion nor at its onset.

"But we believed in ourselves. And we survived despite all odds. The bottom line: never underestimate Ukraine," Sybiha emphasized.

He added that three years ago, Ukraine had proposed bold steps in Munich to prevent Russia's full-scale war. “But our calls fell mostly on deaf ears,” Ukraine’s minister noted.

"The lesson now is clear: listen to Ukraine and don’t repeat past mistakes. Believe in Ukraine and don’t be afraid of taking bold steps to deter Russia," Sybiha urged.
