Peace agreement can only be about plan to end war – Zelensky
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his participation in the panel “Strategic Investment: The Future of U.S.-Ukraine Security Cooperation” at the Munich Conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Zelensky emphasized that a peace agreement must first be negotiated and supported by Ukraine and the U.S. president. He also underscored the importance of security guarantees, stating that these are crucial for the document on the end of the war for Ukraine and for the whole of Europe. Ukraine is already part of Europe and will be an equal part of the EU. For Ukraine, the involvement of Europe is crucial, not merely in discussions behind closed doors, Zelensky said.
He also recalled the contribution of Europeans to the defense and humanitarian support provided during the full-scale war.
As Ukrinform reported, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the decision of the NATO summit in Washington did not stipulate that Ukraine's membership in NATO should be part of a future peace agreement.
