President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Ukrainian and U.S. teams will continue to work on the date of his visit to the White House and meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss further steps to achieve peace in Ukraine.

He said this in an interview with NBC News on Sunday, Ukrinform reports.

“I don't have the date (for a visit to Washington - ed.), but we spoke about it that we will have a meeting, and our teams will work on it,” Zelensky said in response to the host's question about an invitation to visit the White House.

“I think they need this time to have this information, then to work with this information, and then think about it and be ready (for further discussions - ed.), and then we will meet,” Zelensky said.

He also said that President Trump always says he is ready to see him and gave his phone number.

“He (Trump - ed.) said: 'This is my direct number. You have to call me any day you want,” Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during a meeting with a US delegation led by Vice President J.D. Vance in Munich the day before, they had discussed the economic component of security. He explained that he considers security guarantees to be the exclusive responsibility of the U.S. president, who is both the head of state and the leader of NATO.
