US Special Envoy Kellogg arrives in Kyiv

US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg arrived in the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday morning, February 19.

That’s according to Sky News, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that the special envoy is expected to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"I'm going to have some wonderful talks with president Zelenskyy," he added.

When asked what his message is, he said: "We are going to listen."

As reported by Ukrinform, on February 18, the U.S. delegation and Russian representatives held talks in Saudi Arabia. The U.S. side was represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Steve Witkoff, U.S. special envoy to the Middle East. The Russian side was represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov, and Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Putin fears direct talks with Ukraine, seeing them as a sign of weakness and defeat. Zelensky also emphasized on February 17 that Ukraine would not recognize any results of the talks in Saudi Arabia without Ukraine's participation.
