EU Commission hoists Ukrainian flag ahead of third anniversary of full-scale invasion

On Sunday, February 23, the Ukrainian flag was raised at the EU Commission headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, as a sign of solidarity ahead of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced this on social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

"Today we’re hoisting the Ukrainian flag at our headquarters. It is flying high and proud at the heart of Europe. Where it belongs," she wrote.

Von der Leyen noted that tomorrow, February 24, marks three years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"A day that will forever live in infamy," she added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, European Council President António Costa confirmed that he will travel to Kyiv on February 24 alongside Ursula von der Leyen to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine.
