Trump confirms plans to meet with Zelensky on February 28

U.S. President Donald Trump has officially confirmed that he plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this Friday, February 28, to sign an agreement with the Ukrainian side.

He said this on Wednesday during his first Cabinet meeting, which was broadcast online on the official White House website, Ukrinform reports.

Trump thanked his team for reaching an agreement with the Ukrainian side on rare earth minerals and other things. Trump also noted that this would be good for Ukraine.

Asked about what security guarantees the United States is willing to provide to Ukraine, Trump said that he is not going to provide more guarantees than Europe. He reiterated that Europe should do so, as it is Ukraine's closest neighbor.

The U.S. President emphasized that the United States needs Ukrainian rare earth minerals now, at a time when America leads in developing AI technology and needs resources.

As reported by Ukrinform, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that the final version of the agreement with the United States does not impose any "debts" on Ukraine.
