Trump appoints Kellogg special envoy to Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed General Keith Kellogg a special envoy for Ukraine. Previously, he held the post of U.S. special representative for Russia and Ukraine.

The head of the White House reported this on Truth Social, Ukrinform saw.

"I am pleased to inform you that General Keith Kellogg has been appointed Special Envoy to Ukraine," Trump wrote.

The President indicated that Kellogg is “a highly respected military expert” who will work directly with President Zelensky and Ukrainian leadership.

"He knows them well, and they have a very good working relationship together," Trump added, greeting the general on his appointment.

Earlier, media reports claimed Kellogg had been removed from negotiations on reaching a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia at the request of the Russian side, which considers General Ukraine-leaning.

As reported earlier, U.S. President in early February signed a decree on the appointment of Keith Kellogg as special representative for Ukraine and Russia.
