EU Commissioner Dombrovskis meets with leaders of Ukrainian parliamentary factions
This was reported by the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Korniyenko, on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"I held a meeting with the heads of parliamentary factions (groups) and the EU Commissioner for Economy, Productivity, Implementation, and Simplification, Valdis Dombrovskis," Korniyenko wrote.
The First Deputy Speaker highlighted that long-term financial support to Ukraine through the Ukraine Facility instrument is essential for the country’s stability and recovery.

During the meeting, Korniyenko emphasized that Ukraine is committed to the steps outlined in the program aimed at supporting the country’s macro-financial stability. The program is focused on promoting recovery, reconstruction, and modernization during the implementation of key reforms on Ukraine’s path to EU membership. It also supports the transition to a green, digital, and inclusive economy, gradually aligning with EU rules and standards.
"We specifically discussed the autonomous trade measures between Ukraine and the EU, which expire in June this year. It is extremely important to reach a decision on their extension or develop an alternative path. This is necessary, in particular, for our country’s economic resilience," Korniyenko stressed.
The meeting also addressed the issue of frozen Russian assets, specifically the development of a legal mechanism that would allow not only the use of profits from these assets but also ensure their full confiscation for Ukraine's needs.
As Ukrinform previously reported, EU Commissioner for Economy, Productivity, Implementation, and Simplification Valdis Dombrovskis is visiting Kyiv.

According to him, in light of the scaling down of USAID's humanitarian and other assistance programs, the European Union is exploring options for additional funding for Ukraine to fill the resulting gaps.
