US President Donald Trump expects an agreement with Ukraine on rare earth metals to be signed “soon.”

The head of the White House also told reporters that the United States is negotiating with Ukraine on opportunities for American firms to manage Ukrainian power plants.

As reported, on Thursday, US President Donald Trump confirmed his intention to sign an agreement with Ukraine on the joint development of rare earth minerals.

Olha Stefanishyna, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and Minister of Justice of Ukraine, explained that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States does not provide for the transfer of subsoil use rights or any property rights.

In February, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the United States to establish the Reconstruction Investment Fund.
